Cialis – The Weekend ED Drug!

The yellow, almond-shaped erection pill Cialis was the third ED drug to hit the Australian market, just after Levitra in 2003.

Cialis brought new advantages to Aussie blokes affected by erectile dysfunction. Its ultra-rapid action means Cialis can take effect in a speedy 15 minutes, and even better, the drug’s effects can last up to thirty six hours.

Hence its famous nickname: the weekend drug!

Unlike other erection drugs such as Viagra and Levitra, Cialis’s action also works completely independent of food and alcohol intake. So you don’t have to worry about abstaining from beers or pizza! Just don’t overdo it with the drink: high levels of alcohol may cause side effects in some people.

Use of Cialis

Cialis treats erectile dysfunction:  that is the inability to attain or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual activity.

It works by vasodilation, the relaxation of penile blood vessels during sexual arousal. This improves bloodflow, enhancing erectile function. Active ingredient Tadalafil is the cause of this effect. Like Viagra and Levitra, Tadalafil belongs to an ED drug class called PDE-5 inhibitors.

Cialis isn’t a libido booster, and only functions when you are sexually stimulated. It’s not suitable for women, nor for anyone under the age of 18, and is a prescription only medicine.

How Cialis Works

Unlike other major erection drugs, Cialis only takes about fifteen minutes for its effects to kick in.  However, the first time you take Cialis it’s officially recommended to anticipate sex by at least an hour, and then in future at least half an hour. It’s not influenced by food consumption in any way, fatty or otherwise.

If you’re feeling anxious or nervous, Cialis may not work as well the first time. It’s recommended in this case to wait 24 hours, and have a second trial.

Cialis has a very long-lasting action: commonly up to thirty-six hours! This is perhaps its biggest advantage as an ED drug.

Cialis Dosage

Cialis’s recommended dosage is 10mg, but sometimes 20mg may be prescribed too. Your doctor will give individual dosage advice. It’s important you don’t exceed daily dosage recommendations, and never take more than one per 24 hour period.

Cialis Side Effects

Headaches, indigestion, and back pain can be commonly experienced whilst taking the ED drug.

Cialis’s more rare side effects however can include muscle pain, facial flushing, nasal congestion, hypertension, urinary tract infection, hearing loss, even blindness. If any of the above is experienced, immediately stop taking and consult with a doctor.
